A Movin' and Groovin' day!!

Yesterday was a busy, movin' and groovin' day:

Morning:  the day started with Jake's soccer team.  They had picture day, practice, and then a game.  Jake has really picked this game up.  He's really fast, hustles, and definitely likes being the one with the ball.  Jake scored the winning goal for the team.  Way to go Jake!!
Noon:  We live in a historic section of town,  right by a park.  Every year there's a festival in and around the park, including a parade, arts and craft show, food, inflatables, face painting, and live music (the bands stand in a gazebo and sing -- it's very Americana).  After an early lunch, we walked up the street to see the parade.  This was Ava's first visit to this festival and she loved waving to all the floats passing by.  Jake especially loves this parade because the floats come by and throw handfuls of candy toward the children...it's every kids dream.  (so funny, that a dental group's float came by right after that, hmmm!)
The parade and the collected "stash"

Late afternoon:  Daddy and Jake walked up to the festival and met some other families.  Ava was a little under the weather and stayed home with mommy.  What a treat for Jake...candy earlier in the day, and now a coke!!! (thanks Leslie for the pics)
Evening:  When the boys got home we played a mean game of Junior Monolopy.  Ava was mommy's little helper as she threw the dice and held on to the "money".  Jake turned out to be the real estate mogul of the game and beat the pants of mommy and daddy.
We finished the game just in time as we started hearing the fireworks go off. Our house is in a great proximity to the park and we could watch the whole display from our front porch.   It felt like our own little private fireworks show.
Next year, we need to have a get together and see how many people we can fit out on the front porch :)

We missed you guys at the festival last night, but do understand. Yes, count us in for next year for the fireworks.

It was sure a busy day yesterday for us as well.
