Pray for those waiting

Adoption is beautiful, emotional, fulfilling, and unknown. Putting your dossier together is such a busy event full of excitement and a sense of purpose. You rush to get your dossier complete and then you come to a grinding halt -- stuck in drive -- waiting for a referral. I personally know of 5 families that are in the waiting stage. But that's just families I know; there are so many families out there waiting. When waiting, there's an anticipation, expectation, and hope that something will take place. But it's hard when it's unknown, and you have no control over the process.

God's timing is perfect. As human beings, knowing and believing that, it's still very hard. Please pray for all of the adoptive families out there. Lift them up. Pray for strength, hope and peace during this time.

God Bless!

Livi Lu -- not only cute but for a good cause too!

We ordered this cute little green and blue top/dress and it arrived today in the mail. If you are interested, you can get one here at Livi Lu Creations. When you make a purchase from Livi Lu, part of the proceeds go to pay for foster care through Grace & Hope for Children (for a little girl named Olive who lives in China). Thanks Lynn, it turned out great.

Sneak peek

Few pics from around the house. Just a sneak peek of future posts to come.

Love these kids!

Last night we went to church and then to dinner with a group of families. I love these children and their mom and dads too. We went to a "village type" shopping center. It was fun to walk around and hear the bands playing outside and peek inside the little shops (darn they were closed). Thanks Leslie for the pics!

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog. My number one passion will always be my kiddos and family. However, for a while I have flirted with the idea of having a separate blog for my other passions: interior design, gardening, painting, cooking, etc. Since I'm trying to simplify my life, I decided not to maintain 2 blogs but have one blog that would encompass everything. So, welcome to the Fleur-de-lis Cottage (in the midst of a cottage "redo" and have a slight fleur-de-lis obsession...hence the name.) I love creating, transforming, learning and sharing ideas. I'd like to hear your ideas too!

P.S. A very special thanks to Melissa for designing my blog. She did a great job!
